About Paleo Diet

What is the 'Paleo Diet'?

The diet is based on the belief that human beings have not yet evolved with a tolerance to grains and dairy or namely the 'agrarian' lifestyle brought about by farming and producing our own food sources. Instead it focuses its attention on returning to our ancestral roots of the hunter gatherers by consuming only foods that our ancestors would have eaten like grass fed organic meat, wild game, vegetables and minimal fruit.
The diet itself is not restrictive as some would believe and has numerous varieties of foods that can be consumed liberally without fear of gaining weight or causing any aggravation to one's body.

What will the 'Paleo Diet' do?

Due to the connection between processed carbs and refined sugars with diabetes, weight gain and heart disease the 'paleo diet' claims to aid in weight loss, reduce the chance of developing type 2 diabetes and heart disease and may help with autoimmune diseases. Only minor scientific studies have been carried out to prove the validity of the diet and many sceptics still remain. However a diet that encourages the consumption of healthy natural and unprocessed alternatives to our current lifestyle is well worth looking at particularly when over 60% of the worlds population are obese or overweight.

Day 12-14 ~ Playing Catch Up

I don't really want to make a habit of missing blogs because catching up is a total nightmare but unfortunately my Internet was down for 3 days... poops!
I'm not going to go into too much depth since over the course of days 12-14 I was pretty lazy anyway. I didn't feel quite as hungry as normal and had less energy than usual, something which has not been a common occurrence since starting the paleo. I guess now I'm starting to realise the magnitude of what I have started!! ... honestly, it takes an enormous amount of commitment (and energy) to eat paleo and I almost feel like I have been permanently strapped to the kitchen!!
My kids have copped my cranky-ness since I have been a little stressed over the fact that now I'm spending more time preparing meals for us all to eat (not to mention all the home made paleo treats and paleo milk so we can be relatively normal lol)...ahhhhh..... I am trying to breath but somehow I need to find a system to this whole paleo thing that doesn't have me in the kitchen 24-7.
Right now I can see how easily people are charmed by the ease of convenience but I'm not falling for it!
I'm going to see this through to the end and I am not looking back...
